Checked the compression today - ASTOUNDING.

Nothing less than 200psi per bore and my gauge hose was leaking at that point anyway. That's a minimum of 33% increase in cylinder pressures. When I tried to seal the leaking union, I had erratic readings of between 205psi and 220psi.
I think we can safely say the new rings (Total Seal top ring) have taken nicely to the honed bores.

Trev (or anybody else), I'm hoping you'll agree, that I'll see better responses with the NOS than before, especially when the pressures used to average 150psi? Does anyone have compression figures on a N/A that they can relate too? I'm hoping that the response will be much more obvious at lower shots.

Pretty certain these high compressions are adding to my pre-ignition problem,
don't worry, no NOS until this is resolved.

you may not be able to run as much gas with the higher compression you now have, and will have to take more timing out than before when on gas. your old pistons and rings must have been pretty worn to have lost 50psi a pot?

Hi Bryan, yes all true and the NOS limit will be around the 225 shot, but its even better than that.
My system has been re-installed by Trev himself and significantly enhanced (see thread Genuine WON Installation).
The higher compression is also contributed to the "Total Seal" piston rings.
We had to take 12 degrees of timing out already, just to get it to run N/A without knocking.
It will be re-mapped for the NOS on 3rd Sept.

If Viv doesn't do it then I'll be taking the drivers seat and I won't be happy with anything less than a high 11 -upside down throttle peddle or not.

Having now done 3000 miles since re-build, lots of abuse at the drag strip and 3 bottles of NOS later, I did an inspection.
Plugs perfect and cylinder compressions ALL between 200-210 PSI.

As a precaution (for the BMW Show) I have replaced the plugs and gapped them to 20 thou (0.5mm).

The car is now ready for 18-19 sept
