Hi 850 owners, can someone please put me out of my misery.
What triggers the washer tank in the trunk to fill the main one under the hood.
I have just changed ALL the pumps, so ALL washers now work.

It should be the Headlight/Foglight Cleaning Module N6 and than pin 2.
But i think this Box will get a signal from the general module.

Do you have the wiring diagram?
I only have one for year 1995.

Hi Rich

It is filled on demand from the reservoir in the trunk under the spare tire. And, it never fills the front tank completely, only a couple of inches at best. Normal is to have only an inch or two in the front large reservoir as the level sensor (bottom right of the tank) is located such that it shuts off the "demand" pump at a low level. Make sure your trunk reservoir is topped up and that the level sensor in the front tank is oriented correctly (ie wires up) and working properly.
Assuming the pumps are all in working order and the level sensor in the front tank is good, the use of the washers will demand fluid to be pumped from the rear reservoir to the front
Hope this helps.

Hadi

Thanks Hadi, it was your more basic explanation I needed
So you beleive the front reservoir float sensor is the trigger? Hmmm maybe thats the problem.
I'll swap the known working one from my 840

We now have "His n Hers" 8 Series :omgrofl:

The washer in the 850 a sealed unit, in the 840 it indeed has a cap.
Vivienne and I had to McGyver a biro and a small funnel to fill the bottle through the breather until the system works properly.
See ya saturday at the Pod mate unless you wanna meet for a beer tomorrow night.

If you re-call, Viviennes best McGyver to date was to override the kick-down button with a Comfort Conditioner bottle top :omgrofl:
