NITROUS OXIDE ( nos / n2o ) advice forum

It started Yesterday and untill now it send two mails to some of my contacts.
The scary thing is: I have this spam mail in "Send mails" folder!
I changed my password i will see if it happens again!


IF YOU RECIVE MAILS FROM thomas350i at aol.com WITHOUT SUBJECT OR WITH NO CLEAR SUBJECT YOU CAN DELITE IT RIGHT AWAY!

Would you be able to get a copy of the email you sent as spam? We could look at the header details, this should tell us exactly where it is coming from.

YOU may not be sending the mail at all. I have had one of my email addresses 'spoofed' where they use it knowing it is a legit email but it is not being sent from your systems. They are setting up their system so it looks like the email is from you.

They then move on to someone elses email address and start again.

Also if you or someone else has sent out an email to a group with lots of addresses in the 'To:' then if these people manage to get a copy of the mail then they have a list of known good emails that they can use - meaning you and your friends get spam looking like it comes from one of the group!

I just got an email from myself. But it was in my junk folder?? It had my full email address as well.

funny that i use to get loads of spam it was either Viagra or penis enlargement,i had a big row with my girlfriend... i said it must have been her

I´m at work this week but i´m 90% sure the problem is my home PC.
I always go to aol.de and start my account there. So AOL is not on my computer.

untill now there was no more Spam from my account. I hope PW change has ended this!
If not i´ll send you a copy of this spam mail.

But i think this will tell you nothing.
It´s like I send the mail. And in fact My Accound has send this mail as it is in my "Send Items" folder.

I-net says there may be a Problem at AOL. but this is not sure ...

If its in your sent items then it is from your account

If possible I would suggest setting up another email account - Gmail perhaps. AO-Hell and Microshaft dont have very secure servers, I get a lot of people with issues from these providers.

Also password wise watch this video - ALL my users have to watch this before they are allowed to make up passwords!

I fond the Problem.
I have a Trojan. Startup: monxga31.exe

Home PC is now off till it´s cleaned.

Changing pw seems to help till now.
