Welcome to my forum Neil

this is my first post so please be kind.
We never do it any other way.

i have a Bandit 1200 that i've done as much as i can to it.
my next tuning step is Turbocharging or Nitrous. i'm thinking Nitrous is for me.
Wise move.

i've had a good read around the site and i could just do with a few questions answering so here goes.

What else do in need apart from a street blaster 150 kit?
dyna 2000? fuel pump? etc?
That depends how much extra power you want to add - up to 75 HP you shouldn't need anything else, although adding one of our progressive units would be a wise move.

a shopping list would be very useful.
You can add of the optional extras, larger or multiple bottles, bottle heater/s etc. but they're not essential.

You only 'need' a Street Blaster 75 in actual fact but adding a progressive unit would be beneficial and the best value for money with the best capability is a Street Max Extreme but if your budget won't cover that, then a Minimax would be a 2nd best option.

It's got platinum plugs in (i've seen cooler plugs are the way to go)
Nothing in there thast gonna be a prob except that ignition advancer, put the stock rotor on and you're good to go. With the raised CR a 1216 kit gives ya, i wouldnt recomend more than a 50 shot without retard and with stock rods would keep to 100 shot max, though for a road bike you'll find this is more than enough, it doesnt take too much encouragement for a bandit to stand up

. If you use it regularly, i would change the oil more frequently as well as it will get contaminated more due to increased combustion pressure
We spent a fair bit of dyno time with B12's and couldnt actually figure out what benefits were gained by using an advancer, certainly plenty of losses, but that was on stock compression, so you may find the bike runs better without it anyway

remember that turbo bike i mentioned.... we me and him went for a little runout today between showers. all i can say is, i bet he's annoyed.

just read that post, will do. i normally do a load of ringing around at insurance time anyways as i hate them all and think they are all scammers. and it's nice to play them off against each other.

Hi Neil I run a similar engine to you in 9.50 bike, a 1216 GSXR You say you've done just about everything possible you can to it without going nitrous/turbo. This would be a good time to let us know what spec your motor is, as this will determine how much nitrous you can run safely. You will almost definately need if you havent already got, some dyna coils and decent leads. Depending on how much gas you want to use you may or may not need the retard capability of a dyna 2000. On a stock motor 75BHP would be fine without, but if you've skimmed head etc to raise compression or running a dot head then 50BHP would be more realistic. If you have an ignition advancer, bin it, its no use for either nitrous or turbo. If motor is stock internally, i wouldnt go much beyond 75BHP with the stock pistons (although i have run 125BHP thru a stock 1127 motor ) if its going to be a dual purpose tool. If its race only, then with forged pistons you could squeeze around a 150 shot down its throat without too much trouble, tho at this point rods will be at their limit also. You will need a dual output fuel tap such as pingle, the bandit item wont flow enough for any serious use, mine couldnt even keep up with hard normally aspirated use Trouble free use with either turbo's or nitrous is all in the details. You can expect to be working on the clutch quite a bit too if its stock, the gsxr 11 slabside conversion will handle over 160BHP at the wheel without too much effort or money, or alternatively a lockup will be needed. If you're going to race it only, then i recomend doing both as the coil spring is easier to tune Steve

bit short on injectors goin by pic, then you'd need to have pulsoids serviced at £75 each for lifetime warranty, so may not work out that cheap in long run compared to new

We are ALL doing a lot of work on this subject as AF seem to be holding the monopoly, even though you MUST say you have a WON System.. The rule is, if you find someone else post them here, we need to get some healthy competition in the market to drive the prices down. Derek (TVR) looks like he's having success with Graham Sykes, so I have also asked for a quote

I thought it was funny last night when I was referred to as a poindexter (nerd) on the Bimmer forum I must have got a bit too technical about the Torque/BHP subject

hahaha and me! it's a good question that too many people don't know that answer to. i often ask my students to define the relationship between Torque and horsepower. that keeps 'em busy for hours!
