Hi :)

Replying to myself here lol

Umm...next book Trev...how about a HARDBACK LIMITED EDITION....say 100...numbered of course and maybe signed....

I would HAPPILY pay a LOT more for that from you....£50 or £100 each...

Of course as it was my idea...I would have to get the number One copy lol :) :) :)

Good idea ????...Or at least worth a thought ???

All the best Brett :)

Brett,

That's all much appreciated and taken note of.

WISC,

I'll replace any book that's had a problem with any pages falling out (as long as it's not through abuse, which I'm sure yours won't be), so please return it to me and I'll get a replacement out to you straight away.

Regards

I look at it like this;
When I spend money on anything, I expect it to give good service and I do my best to give my customers the same quality products and service as I expect from others.

No problem, I give as I expect to receive. ;)

Try placing an order for the Perf Ford mag then you'll be sure to get it.

I've just been asked why we chose to use 4 simple push buttons rather than the touch panel on the Maximiser or even go to a touch screen arrangement and the answers are these;

1) The matrix of surface wires used in such arrangements increase the risk of interference causing the electronics to play up.
2) Many of my customers are racers and they had a little trouble activating the touch panel with gloves on and a touch screen would be even more of a problem, so we decided on 4 large and easy to activate push buttons.
3) The connection wires between touch panels and the circuit board are very fragile and we had a small number suffer damage as a consequence but there is no wiring between the latest switches and the board itself, so we've removed another potential risk of failure.

We could only think of 'pose value' as a reason to use touch panel/screen rather than buttons and as function takes priority over fashion here, we decided to use the same tried and trusted switches that we use on the Minimax.

Regards

Hi ALL :)

When I was a Top Fuel crew chief we had the same problem...drivers could not activate some controls with Simpson Fireproof gloves on, so we had to make them big and simple lol...

All the best Brett :)

The extreme is yummie....
That's the unanimous opinion of all those who have received them so far. 8) :D 8) :D

1) What is the capabillity / potential (no pun intended) of the "not used" purple wire :?:

I think I recall that the extreme spec refers to a backlight dimming input...could this be the one?

2) Can it be configured for either input or output or both or neither?
Maybe its a serial port? :?:

...Which brings me onto the next quessie that is kind of tied into other feedback mentionned in other posts..."backlight brightness" I understand and agree that the backlight is way too dim for bright ambient daylight conditions (especially with my sun-shade off....lol. I also acknowledge that this is a work in progress for future releases of the extreme F/W (i will add a feature reequest in the appropriate thread) ............BUT, my main question is:

3) Is it possible and /or permitted for customers to update firmware out here in the field.(warrantee void risk accepted)....(wether it be for beta testing or for a pukker release?).... Given the PC tools (H/W & S/W) and ofcourse the program immage. :?:

I would be honoured to be permitted to help you guys out with some field beta testing etc. :P

Ithink its easier to fit to race cars although you have to consider the extra heat from the ali notice the heat shield uder the extreme

Has anyone found the quick set button yet.

I've only got 3 gears so its a pain having to set everything to max and do the build in first.also I have a problem when I activate the system the low volt alarm comes on and switches the system off.this is with 2 brand new batteries connected or a start and charge.unless I set the alam to 7volts.does anyone have any clues.

That would be handy, I'll see what we can do.

You've lost me with that one??

My guess would be a suspect connection, so I'd check them and check that you have 12 Volts at the Max unit itself, because having 12 Volts at the battery is no guarantee that it's getting to the Max.
If all that checks out OK, give Ant a call and I'm sure he'll have a simple answer/solution for it.

Check all your grounds, also make sure all your grounds go back to the battery as the chassis is not a very good ground.

we have 13.1 v on the screen and the ground goes straight to to a stud welded on the chassis.but I'll check it again.
