Ross Walker (EVO) has just kicked off the 2009 race season with the first VICTORY for WON in a rolling start 30 to 130 mph race, which he achieved in approx. 6.5 secs.

He's been 3rd and 2nd in past years but now has the WIN under his belt since fitting his WON system over the past few weeks.

He's promised to post a report with pics with exact details at his earliest convenience but till then this will do.

CONGRATULATIONS & THANKS go to Ross for such a GREAT job and for kicking off what I'm sure is going to be a WON year in such FINE fashion.

And yet ANOTHER GREAT RESULT thanks in part to WON.

Our customer Craig Jones (a top stunt motorcycle rider), has just set a new world speed record ON ICE!!!

Here's his report;

Yes we were successful on the ice. The worst temperature we experienced was minus 19 degrees ! At an ambient temperature of approx minus 3 degrees, the bottle heaters worked well but only gave us a single 1.1Km run before cooling down that much that the pressure dropped to 600psi. The best result was a 50HP injection (100 gas / 50 fuel) on a second run. This gave a strong boost in 6th gear from approx 200Km/h. The top speed reached was 238Km/h over 1.1km distance to breaking point. I found the cleanest run on 50HP was the second run. Runs after that seamed to tail off even though the bottle gauge still said 950psi after the heaters did the job again.
Our issues to deal with were...
1.Wheel spin if the gas was introduced too soon. So I only hit the button when I was well into 6th gear at full throttle. The ramp up of NOS via the FRED unit worked well.
2. At anything over 200Km/h, the tyre was distorting due to centrifugal forces of the very heavy construction. In fact a spike came clean out at 220Km/h and went through under side of the bike but directly hit the aluminium frame (lucky for me!!)

So the conclusion was that it is not all about power. The development of a strong, light weight spike tyre is the most important. This is then followed by how the power is introduced to give the speed verses how long a run you dare to take before finally the spikes begin to leave the tyre.
The nitrous will play an important part for us if we decide to continue forward with the project in future.
Thanks for your support and I will advise when a press release is prepared.

So congratulations to Craig for a job well done.

When ALL you've got is ice to race on and spikes are all that give you any traction at all, I suppose we'd all do it.

I'd have to add a magnetic mudguard round the tire to catch the errand spikes though.

It must be a weird experience.

More GREAT results as Nathan Freke (MR2) breaks the existing world record for an MR2 by running a 9.722 @ 148mph.

Previous record was 9.728 @ 140.

The video of the run and the much higher mph shows there is a LOT more to come when nathan manages a perfect run.

Hopefully Nathan will find the time to post more details on his thread soon.

MANY CONGRATULATIONS to Nathan on such a MAJOR ACHIEVEMENT.
