WOW! I haven't "checked in" in a little bit and just read this. I am so sorry to hear this, but so pleased that you two are going to make it. I will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers.

Speedy recovery my friend!

Bloody hell!!!

Jesus, I am so glad that you were on the part of the road which didn't have the river running next to it! Just go's to show, you really don't know WHAT is going to happen in life and we should all take this as a que to give thanks and appreciate everything that we have at this very moment. Trev and Janet may well have been taken away from us on that night (funnily enough, that was my birthday - wouldn't have been a good day if I'd recieved some horrid news! :beatstick: ) so we should all be grateful that someone up there was watching over them and decided that it wasn't their time to go.

Goodluck with the repairs, Trev/Janet - I wish you both a speedy recovery and I really hope that the issue with your foot can recover to it's normal happy state, to how it was before the accident.

All the best, Ron :)

Many thanks to both of you for the kind words and thankfully we're improving 'a little' each day. :)

Sheeet! The Volvo looks a mess. You guys were very lucky. Glad to hear you are on the mend.

Yep the Volvo is dead, :( it is no more etc. etc. (a la Monty Python Dead parrot sketch). :omgrofl:

Another snippet that made me laugh, was when I told a friend I had more lives than a cat, he retorted with "yes but they have more legs". :omgrofl: :omgrofl: :omgrofl: :omgrofl: :omgrofl:

Thanks for the concern Ian.

You know who your true mates are at times like this.
I still get laughs from my brush with the reaper, and that was 10 years ago :omgrofl:

I lost my right leg (below knee amputation) 37 years ago in an identical accident to this one but that time it was bikes instead of cars but in both cases some IDIOT was overtaking and I was unable to get out of their way quick enough, even though I shouldn't have needed to, as they were on my side of the road.

Thanks for the good wishes everyone.

Rich!!
That story of your Grim Reaper escape will have to be told again in May on the Saturday night BBQ and piss up evening mate..
The last time you told the story it was like a scene in a scary movei??

A bunch of folk sitting in the dark around a log fire. We are all talking the usual car bollox about records and near death experiences in crashes. Then Rich pipes up and says... "I nearly got killed a few years ago" We ay.. "what happened Rich"

Then Rich goes into a story that had all us folk sitting in silence in the dark with the orange glow from the fire lighting up our faces. Most of which were open mouthed as Rich regailed us with the gory details of his violent experience??
The general comments from all of us as Rich told the story were Oh My God! and many gasps !!

If you want to know the details of Richards Horrific experience you will have to be sat around the fire at 9pm in the Santapod pits on Saturday 14th May with the rest of us ???

Richard's is definitely more interesting than my 'mundane' near death experience.

Thanks for that.

I've now got my pot off but I'm not much more mobile, as my foot is still extremely swollen and 'sensitive', so I can't put any weight on it and it's still uncertain as to whether or not I'll need another op and if I did, that would set me back another couple of months.
That being said it's a 'step' in the right direction, so I'm happy about that. LOL

One thing I am rather peeved about is the fact that I've had to pass over a trip to assist a customer in the Caribbean and give that job to Ant to do, so while I'm stuck here he's basking in the sun over there right now. :x
