It last ran in September last year, when the turbo spat out its exhaust compressor wheel doing 110mph up Kesselchen hill on the Nurburgring.... Been doing a few other upgrades at the same time, so am looking at around 300bhp / 450 lb/ft on diesel alone, and then will have to wait and see what the water/methanol and the nitrous does on top. ;) Still a 1.9.

VID of first start, running on 2 cylinders

Left to run at 2000rpm for a bit to allow fuel to flow right, and to check oil pressures during engine warm up

New steering wheel, also have mk5 GTI seats in there now

Bit of diagnostics to check all OK

Been interesting. This is the new manifold and turbo setup. nice tubular mani, with latest GTB2260vk turbo from Audi 3.0 TDI engines (recent engine and a real nice turbo as "stock" which this one is)

Still sounds a tad ruff in those videos - almost like the fuel isnt there / not misting?

Mechanic reckoned it was firing on 2 cylinders in the first vid and probably up to 3 cylinders in the second vid. Takes a while for the head to fill with fuel and for all injectors to be firing as they should. :)

Also, I am still running on old mapping but with very high flowing nozzles, so I am expecting a little roughness. I can assure you, later on in the day the engine had returned to what I would consider its normal volume and running style. ;)

Back in my possession today and man it flies. Some serious top-end power now, even on outdated mapping.... Mods done over & above previous setup

1) Tubular manifold mounted to Garrett GTB2260vk turbo (stock)
2) oversized exhaust valves
3) Dbilas race camshaft
4) More head porting done
5) Firad 925cc race nozzles fitted
6) Rosten forged rods fitted.
