Gonna be fitting a modest shot to an Audi TDi.

Diesel and nitrous is new to me.
How do we 'trick' the engine into giving more fuel when the nitrous is activated?

could you use one of these diesel tuning boxes as im sure they dump more fuel in and maybe as the next step you could use a couple of relays so it runs normal pressure day to day then on activation it fires a relay connecting the tuning box inline to chuck loads of fuel in

Ok so i had a quick look at these tuning boxes..... £350 to £495

It seems these are with built in switchable maps. Are there any cheaper options for use with nitrous activation only?
How do we know if the mixtures will be ok even if the box is throwing in more fuel?
Are diesels a lot more forgiving to such changes?

Speaking only for my bmw 320d, i have a very basic over-fueling box which has a few settings..the very high one has been made to switch in when i hit my nitrous micro switch,it sounds abit crude but it works and i found a good balance by keeping an eye on the rear view mirror, diesel is very forgiving ;) i can have a puff of black smoke (too much fuel) or not enough nitrous, i personally have found the best setting for me at the moment..i need to say something tho, trev didnt think it was the cause ,but ive had 2 fuel rail pressure sensors go on me in the last 3 years, my head tells me surely theres a connection.

If its a proper remap then there wont be any problems with the engine or sensors.

The resistors sold on ebay or other systems to 'fool' the ecu are bad news. They seem to overstress different components on different cars.

Lots of the VAG people have had issues with their engine sensors resulting in a loss of power when they have used something to fool the sensors.

Rapid remap do a box for the VAG engines but it is £300 +

pretty much all tuning for diesels starts at about £300 (well stuff that others have proved to give definite increase and reliability)

Mind you just try a shot - I put a 60 on my Octavia and it cut my 1/4 form 17.4 to 17.1 and incidentally pissed Pel off NO END! Mind you it was a stealth install - pipe from the back and power for the pulsoid from the cigarette lighter

Still no time to work on this project sadly.

You do NOT have to worry AT ALL about melting a piston using Nitrous (ONLY), as it's IMPOSSIBLE.

The only time you'd be at risk of damage is if you tried to use propane or methanol as a fuel enrichment.

 :D

lol yah.. I do talk to one of the companys that offer this type of thing.. and they could be the guys that tevor is talking to also.. and it seems like they have a product now! havnt called them yet! it does offer a "overfuel" map when on nitrous!

1 importent thing! the pressure in the bottle is VERY IMPORTENT! 800-900 gives you near nothing but at 1100-1200 it nice! controled with heat from a bottle heater! and that heater is ecential! need to buy one.. :D

i seem to have a little isue if i fire the nitrus at the same time as i drop the throttle to 100% it does not sound right.. fine it first kick in when i have gotten on boost!

Interesting about the pressure. Maybe his next upgrade.

We fitted the kit running a 100 jet. The car is a Audi A6 2.7 TDi with a few minor upgrades to 212bhp.
Initial report back is that the car hit over 90 at the same spot it normally hits 80 with no fuss and no smoke.

This was with only 600psi in the bottle so more potential i guess.
