I raced with a handful of Griffiths in my Chimaera on Saturday and ran 11.64 to a best of 12.5 from a highly tuned Griff 500.
I was getting to the 1/8 very well but then the car was bogging and losing power over the finish line.
That afternoon i went to a TVR meeting where they had a portable rolling road and i ran the car on nitrous to show i was running very rich with the AF ratio dropping below 10:1. A fuel jet change and another run brought the ratio back up and the next day back at Shakey the car run sweet with terminals over 120 and no bogging but i wasnt getting off the line as good.
I still ran a 11.8 so was the fastest TVR on the day beating circuit racers, hillclimbers and a Sagaris
I reckon there was a new pb in the car but i got fed up of the hour long queues and headed home early.

Excellent and very well done.

Now you'd expect all those guys to be buying my nitrous systems after you demonstrated how effective they are but no, they'll stay with what they have and miss out on all the fun.

THERE'S NOWT STRANGER THAN FOLK, AS THEY SAY UP NORTH!!!! :? :?

You may be getting a couple of orders Trev.
Some of the guys were asking lots of questions and seemed quite eager.
If any TVR owners call you then ask if they know me.
Ive been very active promoting my car with the nitrous and my antics at the drags on both Pistonheads and the TVRCC forums.

Also after the rolling road results im now running a 3:1 nitrous/fuel ratio and all is fine.
Does this sound excessive to you?

Well after your results alone (never mind any promotional efforts you've made) it would make more sense if I did see some TVR orders but I'm not holding my breath.

Thanks for your efforts anyway.

Whatever ratio that produces the best results is fine and anyone who sticks to a specific ratio regardless of the results would be a fool. ;)

Congrats on the new PB and great times.

That's flying down the 1/4 mile. :D

With regard to the N/F ratio: I know the ratio on my car surprised a few people, but I had a freakish fuel system and was running race fuel. As long as you are able to find MBT, that's all that counts.

Does anyone use the Innovate stuff?
Thinking of adding this http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/kits.php
to my christmas list.
Looks like a good way of keeping track on the mix etc

Buy the latest Max software (or a Max if you don't have one already) and you'll benefit from our AFR window switch, which is much better than just having a gauge and you'll also soon be able to benefit from closed loop AFR self adjusting control.

I've had a LM1 for a few years now & can't fault it

The AFR window switch Trev's on about should work with a LC-1 tho on a V8 you might want to look at the twin sensor LC-1 to read each bank or two normal LC-1 which are available at good prices on UK ebay tho I dunno if the Max will take two O2 inputs?

I told you that car would fly mate :)

I know from my dyno testing that, although my N/F ratio's seemed odd. They are right for the engine in its present state.

After setting it up on the rollers we went out and bagged three 10's by shaving 0.3 off the ET's. If I had not done the dyno tune I would still be in the 11's ?

Not sure what controller you have, but the bog off the line may just be a start power / launch rpm issue?

Well done that man

I have the innovate LM1 and the LMA-2 expansion/rpm input unit in my Kitten. Very very good, i have the inputs reading afr (obviously!), rpm, nitrous psi, fuel psi, throttle position and voltage.

My winter mods list

bigger brakes
nos kit
alloy rad
some general engine bling to finish it off
some interiour work

my perfect car after that, sorted out the rest last year and Nos seems to be the best power mod/£ about and DBV8 car seems to run really well so it is a must as these modern hot hatch's are getting quite quick now and can scare my 10 year old tiv

Scotty you are doing things the sensible way round.
Well done.
I just wanted to go faster at the track and am now looking to start tidying my car and uprating the supension etc.
0-100 used to be about 13 seconds and is now down to about 7.8
Just a number to get your head around with what you can look forward to.
Lets see any of theses hot hatches keep up with that!

I have pics of my install for you when you need them and i will give you my limited knowledge but im sure you will do a much neater job and will improve on my setup with further advice from Trev and co.
