bosch blue 12v non ballast (part number ends 9027) as recommended by tony on his V8 website
The BLUE Bosch coil is NOT intended for V8 use (check out the Bosch catalogue if there's any doubt who is right about this matter) and is specified for FOUR cylinder use. The Bosch coil for a V8 is the RED BALLASTED version and I used one of those to run my record times, plus we've sold 100s more to customers who have also had troublefree results. or the lucas gold affair DL105 (i Think) again 12v non ballast
Stay away from those they are TOTAL GARBAGE.or am i miles off in either direction!?
Yup MILES OFF!!!!what are we using, what works, or what do you recommend from experience?
The Bosch coil & ballast aren't the cheapest option, so we also offer a cheaper brand of coil that has similar specification, to reduce the cost a bit.
This is the cheaper brand complete with ballast @ £48 which is approx £10 cheaper than the Bosch including ballast;

The advantage of having a ballasted coil, is that you can run it at low voltage until you nail the nitrous and then you can switch bypass the ballast (as I included in our own brand of ignition systems, which BTW I may still have some of), to boost the spark strength without overloading the coil excessively.
