Yea, I've been feeling like crap since I did all of that work and I still feel groggy. I ended up just passing out after posting those pics and I forgot to update the post this morning until you pointed out that there wasn't any info lol. :drunken:

It's a good thing I didn't gamble on just replacing the crank seal and going because the oil pump did get FOD'd out. There is some scarring on the steel gerotor gears and even a piece of aluminium was caught in the moving surfaces where oil surely was finding it's way out. So a NEW pump is on the way and I'll be doing a full cleaning of the oil pan, the pick up screen (full of gunk from somewhere), and replace the oil filter.

I feel your pain. £3k spent recently and now I've got a problem with the damn thing stalling when coming off the throttle when hot! Hopefully just the idle control valve but with the typical British bank holiday weather there's not a lot I can do...

Prepping for the nitrous system. Yes, I'm using a braided line again but it's a spare, tech inspection acceptable, and it'll supply enough nitrous to max out the 250 X-10's from the Sonic. I'll also be xferring the Max Extreme from the Sonic to this car and I'll be able to use many of the features the Maxy has. Replacing the Sonic's Pulsoids will be a pair of 150's.

It looks like you've routed the braided hose under the car, if that's the case I'd either re-route it through the inside or if it needs to pass any tech inspection and MUST go under the car, it would benefit from being heavily insulated, otherwise you'll be purging most of your bottle contents as gas.

Yea I just wanted to be tech passable so I routed it outside even though i really didn't want to. I have a roll of rubber line I can use as insulation that I'll shield the hot spots of the line with.

I haven't been to the strip in years so I have to catch up on the rules, if they allow the supply pipe inside the cabin then I'll simply reroute, it only takes 20 minutes to do at most.

If it has to be underneath then the best options are;
1) Route it THROUGH a chassis rail
2) Failing that, attach it to the OUTSIDE face of a chassis rail and insulate the entire length.

You'd be AMAZED at how much performance is lost JUST by where the pipe is routed.

I had one of my guys change the pipe on my first nitrous car and it went from being killer to killed.

For a good while I couldn't figure out what he could have done to have caused such a MASSIVE drop in performance.

I eventually GUESSED that it was because the pipe was under the car and being affected by the heat, so to confirm I was correct I just threw a length of hose over the top of the car and the performance was killer again.

It was only then that I fully realised how detrimental heating the supply pipe could be.

LOL great story! It's amazing the things one can discover by accident.

So I must admit that I lied...

I DID route a supply line in the cabin... I had an EXTRA EXTRA spare line to use as a dummy so the techs think that the line is routed outside... those FOOLS!!!

Under the bonnet, it appears as if the two lines are just ONE line.

well it looks like I'll be tuning this car on my own since the tuner I went to see today from a very well-known shop didn't sit well with me. I've done my own tuning in the past when I worked with turbocharging cars that had no factory turbo option, and I was pretty successful despite my setups being super budgeted.

I felt like I was intruding on the tuners time and he was knit picking small things that I'm already aware of, but they don't require immediate attention. But overall, he didn't seem too interested and, if anything, he seemed to be tired of tuning cars as if he was burned out on all of it. Therefore, I'll just have to do it myself and put it on a dyno somewhere else.
