Ive joined the club

I have wanted nitrous in my racing puma for years now! Since chris of this forum took me out for a ride in his actually, lol.

After spending loads and loads of money getting my car up to par i thought now is the time :)

The car is a Ford Racing puma 1 of 500 ever built. The engine is the 1.7 ford puma engine with different inlet, cams and exhaust, producing 155bhp.

Now my install :)

I have the max extreme street version and 11lb bottle.

I took the car to Chris for fitting and he did a fantastic job, especially for his first customer install, i was very impressed

Chris started fitting the system about 10am and we was all done for 7pm, was a long day but so so worth it!

At the moment i am running 25 fuel jet and 50 N20, even with this relative small jet size the car is really flying now. I honestly didnt think the difference would be that big due to the weight of the system and the mdf the bottle is mounted too but it really surprised me, and i think Chris, lol.

At the moment my build time is 2 seconds and i have the nitrous kicking in at 1900rpm and shutting off at 6900rpm (300rpm below the limit). Starting at 20% and going to 100% i think. (Chris set them, lol)

Anyways im still trying to get my head around the system and settings for now so will keep you posted.

Heres afew pics of the car and system, let me know what you think.

A big thanks to Chris also for fitting the system, awesome matey, defo owe you afew beers

That's cool mate just wondered

I like the install apart from one bit I think your toggle switch looks so out of place could you not change the switch for a nicer looking one and an extra relay

I quite like it where it is. It's convenient to switch the system on and off and when on the light tells me it is.

Took Chris ages to wire it in, haha.

Haha mate aslong as you like it that's cool just thought a rocker switch or latching push button may look nicer but agree the location looks good within reach but still out of the way

Hi :)

Lol...I dont do subtle...never have....

When my neigbours first heard my 928 coming down the street they said it sounded like "Armageddon"... and I thought...that sounds like a good name for my car... :)

At 7000 plus revs its over 130 db..... not sure how much over as my decibel meter only goes up to 130....

All the best Brett :)

Been for a good blast this morning in the fro and thought id share my 30 to 70 time in 3rd gear

10.9 standard

to 8.8. with the 25hp jets

so 2.1 seconds quicker.

pretty happy with that, however my standard and nos time wer slower than yips

Thought they would be quicker in the frp than a standard puma, maybe i didnt press it quick enough or get on the throttle quick enough, lol.

either way it has shown a good improvement of standard with the small jets

Ive also fitted Chris's custom bottle wrap. I think it looks awesome and goes really well with the alcantara in the interior

I've added the bigger jets now

Have got 100 in the nitrous and 40 in the fuel.

Did a quick test to see what It was like and here are the results

30mph to 70mph in 3rd.

Standard. 10.8
25hp jets 8.9
50hp jets 7.7

So so 3.1 secs quicker.

Now that was with a passenger and it was pissing it down with rain with a relatively cold bottle.

On the controller it was over 2 secs build time and set in each gear as follows

Point 1 50%
point 2 60
Point 3 70
Point 4 80
Point 5 100

The car felt slightly quicker in lower revs but seemed to fly 5k upwards. Think I need to have a slightly higher percentage lower down to feel the low down torque better. :/

Hi Mike, my car is now running NOS too. A bit of a hybrid WON / NOS system. currently more WON. :)
Rolling road check over was quite impressive.
Image
That without a progressive controller and the NOS being turned on at around 3K rpm.
I have drilled my dash so the big arming switch is easily reached on the R/hand side.
Now have progressive controller set to 50% and 2 secs
Heater control etc in ash tray
Image
armed LED on the dash.

Good enough to see off a M3 BMW and a Celica GT4 on a track day
