Hi people,
I know you may think I'm crazy but as I always get people saying I should fit NOS on my wheelchair I decided to do something. I contacted a local company "Powerhouse Automotive Ltd" to see if they sold fake NOS bottles which I could fit on my wheelchair.

The guy emailed me back saying if I wanted he would go 1 step further and fit me a working NOS Purge Kit. So as soon as I could I dropped my wheelchair off and after a week he messaged to say it was ready to pick it up.

Here are a couple of pictures showing the Solenoids, tank and the bursts. I have a little bit of experimenting to do to make the bursts look their best. I also plan on adding a LED light at the base to the output to make the bursts glow.

I've just been advised I've used the wrong sticker on the bottle but it's getting changed.

Anyway here are a couple of images and I'm just waiting for the video of the bursts with the lighting to finish publishing on Youtube.

Excellent idea.

A couple of things would help to improve the purge to look better;

1) Convert to braided hose between the bottle & Pulsoid
2) Unless the bottle has an appropriately positioned dip tube, correcting that would help
3) Using a higher flow Pulsoid would help
4) Aiming the plumes upwards would help (I arranged some plumes that way to look like it was coming out of my ears for an advert I created once)
5) To keep the cost down (but it won't look 'quite' as good), you could use CO2
6) The only down side to the mods, is that the bottle wouldn't last as long.

I'd be happy to upgrade the parts as described free of charge

Thanks for the advice, i like the idea about upgrading the hose to braided and I already plan on pointing the plumes up, Ive been waiting for my leds to arrive. Don't want to sound stupid but what's a dip hose?

I don't need to worry about refilling as Lawson from Powerhouse Automotive has offered to refill free every few week. Before changing parts I'm going to experiment with what I have at the moment. One day I think I may try a larger tank so it doesn't need refilling as often

A dip tube is a tube that is fitted to the valve so the open end is positioned at the lowest part of the bottle, to ensure it delivers liquid nitrous rather than clear gas.

Oh ok looks like it is setup correctly to me as there is a bit pointing up and the tu be it is pointing down. I'm no expert though haha. I'm currently trying to find someone who can make some mounts for the exit pipes so I don't need to use cable ties.

I've messaged a couple of local aluminium works.

I also want to add a wireless remote so any idea what I would need to get to do this?

Does the nitrous just exit from the end of the pipes - if so we have a component with a 6mm thread we could supply you with that would be easy to mount in any 6mm hole.

If you have any problems with that we can help you with it.

Sorry I can't help you with that.

Yesterday I went to the Ultimate Custom Show in Manchester and the wheelchair was a total winner. Everyone loved seeing the lights and when I pressed the burst button people were like "WOW". I pressed it just as a kid was passing and I heard him say "WOW it is just like a rocket" hahaha.

I think it will be a lot better with proper mounts for the burst pipes so we can be sure they point in the same direction.

Today I've spent the afternoon with the guys from Wizards Of NOS and had some work done to the wheelchair. It now has some proper mounts for the purge pipes and also upgraded the bottle to a nice shiny 5lb

I absolutely love it haha, but my fiancée wasn't a happy bunny with me as she thinks I've gone too far now haha. My response is "that's the point of the wheelchair, to push things too far"

You can never push things too far, that's the whole point of life, to push things as far as you can anything less is a waste.

BlueDragon,

You should snap a photo of the plume in the new upward orientation! I want to do something like that with my office chair; people will think twice about bothering me when I'm busy! **POOF**

I don't know if your interested but just thought I would post an update of what is coming next. The wheelchair is now supported by JL Audio and Kenwood UK who have supplied a set of speakers and a head-unit. 1st off the original seat wasted a lot of space underneath so I have replaced it with a sheet of MDF which will be covered in black vinyl. I have then fitted a universal stereo mount which will hold a mechless head-unit.

Glad to hear it and its probably because people like to help those that despite adversity try to help themselves, rather than just go about touting for sympathy as most people do.

The headunit from Kenwood has now arrived and looks amazing. I just need to find someone who can fabricate some side panels which will hold the speakers on either side, but I don't want it bodged.

The MDF is now covered in black vinyl and it makes it blend in perfect. Next up so to have some side panels made which will house the speakers.
