Hi people first post long time reader. I am looking to get a Jaguar XJR with Nitrous for drag racing as well as a bit of weekend use. I am wanting a lot of gas to get good times. So which would be the best base the older inline 6 or the later v8, does one engine have a better proven history with nitrous than the other. Looking for any advise, I have seen one of each in the price range Look forward to your advise. regards stefan |

All things being equal I'd go V8, it depends on your goals. |

I have some very quick customers using straight 6 Jag engines but some are a better design than others, so you'd need to find out which is the best one if you went that route. I've also had a couple of customers with the Jag V8 but I've not had as much feedback from them about their results, so I can't pass on much about them. I suspect that as long as the V8s have decent pistons, they would be the best option. |

Interesting, I know the supercharged V8s have better pistons than the normal ones. Looks like I will have to try a v8 then, I hope to get another motor to build into a nitrous motor to take big amounts gas but will start with retarded timing and colder plugs on the original on. Time to start hunting for a car |
