Actually I don`t mind paying slightly more for the pulsoids. What I get is total reliablility and ease of mind. I consider the fuel pulsoid the MOST IMPORTANT PART of the whole system, no room for mistakes here.

This was the whole reason I went to pulsoids.
I had been using nos super spowershots on my old system. But I had to fit a service kit about every 20 passes as they failed quickly when pulsed. With the cost of the service kits I worked out that my pulsoids would pay for themselves in a year. I didnt buy any pulsoids though. I was given a second hand set from a mates car so i fitted them. It was at least 9 months later that I realised i hadnt had to service them and they were still fine. Thats why I always buy up any old stuff I can find on ebay. I've had 2 pairs into won for sevicing just so I know I have 2 matched pairs. I gave away 1 set last year to my son and swapped another pair with a fellow won customer in exchange for some stuff. I still have my original 2 pairs on the MGB and 3 pairs on the shelf as spares just in case.
Even if you buy a shitty second hand pair. Its still cheaper to send them to WON to get them up to top spec than buying a pair of big NOS solenoids :)

I know that I have got a lot of other nitrous stuff that I play with. But I can say "hand on heart" that pulsoids are the best solenoids you can buy for any nitrous system. They are the best upgrade anyone could fit to an existing nitrous system cos they are pretty much a fit and forget item. And you have the added bonus of the manufacturer publishing the details you need to service them and tune them at home??

I voted no 8) . Whilst they may not be the cheapest to buy, the fit and forget more than out weighs the difference tens times over.

My pulsoids are over 5 years old and they've never been in bits or serviced and never failed in any way. I did treat them to new filters last year though 8). The valve seats are original which is my only concern with regard to the latest fuels with different chemical composition (not a fault of the solenoid if the goal posts move!), but mine seem to be absolutely fine :yes:

Isn't that how it should be though :? 8)

The questions is worded incorrectly. There is absolutely no doubt that pulsoids are more expensive to buy than solenoids!

OK so you're all in agreement that you BELIEVE that Pulsoids are more expensive than NOS (generic) solenoid and until a few days ago that's exactly what I INCORRECTLY 'thought' as well.

That all changed when I was asked to sell an American company a 100 sets of Pulsoids and whilst discussing the order with him he mentioned how they worked out cheaper than the 'best' JUNK he could buy in the US. At first I thought he must have been getting his $$s & ££s mixed up in the conversion, so I did a side by side comparison to see for myself and not only do they work out IMMENSELY CHEAPER £ for £ but they even work out cheaper £ to $.

There are 3 main reasons for this;
1) The Pulsoids are sold COMPLETE with an EFFECTIVE filter, inlet and outlet fittings & mounting bracket
2) The major change in exchange rates approx. a year or 2 ago made our Pulsoids 25% cheaper compared to US products when exported and made US products THIRTY THREE percent more expensive when imported
3) We haven't had a price rise in our product range in general for approx FIFTEEN YEARS

So SURPRISE, SURPRISE, not only are WON Pulsoids FAR SUPERIOR to ALL other solenoids IN ALL RESPECTS but they are also SUBSTANTIALLY CHEAPER. :shock: :o :shock: :o :shock: :o

Please check out the following link for the actual comparison;
http://www.noswizard.com/hpsnw_admin/pdf/WONVsREST2.pdf

The UK prices for the US products were obtained from 'reputable' (LOL) retailers of US brands in the UK.

Well I just hope it gets round to all those people who think generic solenoids are cheaper than Pulsoids, before they find out the EXPENSIVE WAY that they're NOT. :idea:

That was 'something' along the lines of my first reaction, after I'd finished the comparison and prices. ;)
