After what can only be described as a trying couple of years I've made the decission to call it a day for the year. I'd like to thank everyone for there support and following us. I promise to keep you all up to date with what were doing and the upgrades we will do over the winter. The decision came after a problem that we found i'n the workshop after bugjam. We were getting ready for this weekend at shaky. When doing routine checks on the fuel pressure i notice the oil pressure wasn't as high as it should be. Only 55 instead of 75. Not a major probl still loads of oil but an oil change later and still the same, when we cut open the filter we found bearing swarf i'n the filter. When we pulled the engine we noticed most of the motor plate bolts were loose along with gearbox and prop bolts. When we stripped the engine the pick up pipe securing nut had come undone. Problem found. With this no option but to strip everything. We found number 2 main bearing had welded itself to the crank. I've sent the crak and block to be checked and the crank cleaned up but was bent and number 2 main cap was twisted and buckled as was the main web i'n the block. I've been guaranteed that the block and crank will be back by Thursday. But the fact that the rods are almost to the maximum runs and the hard life the have had it only made sence not to push what little luck we had buy finding this i'n the workshop and not at 8000 rpm at the weekend.

Were thinking that we had problems with tyre shake at bugjam which has now buckled both rear wheels which i'n turn put more vibration through the car causing everything to come loose.

So as you can see with a sizeable repair bill and the long hours me and the crew have spent i'n the workshop on repairs i think everyone deserves a break.

A well deserved rest me thinks.
I'm see you down at the workshop soon for top ups (both Nitrous & Tea),
also it will give me a great excuse to full bore the 840 through the new Hindhead Tunnel (sound clips soon)

Thanks for all of your support all of you I'm sure we will be back and running a lot harder. The block is repaired and I the is being done tomorrow so I'm hoping to have everything back on Friday. I'm also going up to see Andy Robinson so we can watch some of the video's and go through the data we now have. We should be hitting around 9.8 without the gas but the best I've got is 11.0 and that with 850bhp.

If you find the solution to that (as Bruce advised you to do if you remember), you may well also have found the reason for the last piston failure, with a bit of luck. ;)
