Hi All
Just to let you know that I will be trying to beat my own 1/4 mile record for UK 928`s on the 17th September 2011.
I will be taking a friend with me to video the runs.
My current record stands at 13.03 at 113 mph.
I am hoping that with my new Wizards of Nos Revo nitrous system to turn up the power a little this time to around 1300 hp in total and so would hopefully be in the 12`s or possibly the 11`s ...
It will be run on an old World War 11 American bomber airfield at Baker Barracks on Thorney Island where the track is made from sectionalised concrete , and the traction is not great to say the least lol.
But its where I took my last record , last year and as the day is in aid of Help for Heroes , I am fond of running there
Anyone in the UK is welcome to come and watch.
If I get a low 12 , it will be the WORLD record for 928s...currently held at 12.434 at 117 mph by an American weird twin rear turbo 5 ltr 928 ...
All the best Brett
This is getting interesting re the maths !!
1300hp in a car weighing ???
My car is geared for 1/4 miles. It weighs 3000 lbs with me in it. It has 400hp at the rear wheels and runs low 10's. The torque figure for my car is around 550 ft/lbs.
My final drive from the gearbox is obviously 1:1 into a diff running a ratio of 3.07:1 onto rear tyres 28" tall.
Can anyone work out the sums if Brett can give us his gear ratio and power etc..
It would be fun to see if these racing calculators can predict Bretts ET on this 1/4 mile attempt ??
We can all make a guess at Bretts new ET before he even does it.
Brett!!
Give us all the data on your setup so we can have a sweepstake on your ET on the day.
I'll bet £10 that brett beats his old PB. I'll donate this to Brett via paypal so he can pass it on to Help for Heros.
Anyone else want to have a gamble for charity??
Regards
Perry
