Its my opinion that RPM based progression is the route to the absoulte limits of your engine.. and that time progression is usefull only in the first stages of the race where traction is concerned. But i would like to hear others opinions. And also, from trev on max capabilites to combine both types.

If you adjust all gears time based that would be about the same as rpm based.
And i think its much easier to set up and to adjust.

Depending on the used gearbox you have a 2000-3000 rpm window befor you shift up.
A build time of 2 to 5 seconds will cover that.
Adjust the Start/End power and build up time for each gear and you should get the same result as rpm based.

And if you lift there is also that "memory funktion" so the build time wouldn´t start from zero again.

I say it might be nice to have for one or the other situation but is not realy needed.

On the later software for the max2, it has rpm and time based or a combination of both in any gear
