All the vitally important factors of system design, construction and installation are missing on that car.

Starting with design;

1) The nozzles are NOT flowing evenly and consistently and in the same direction as each other
2) The hoses are FAR TOO LONG and TOO BIG

All the above will make the engine more prone to detonation, which is very likely to be the cause of the failure.

Without knowing what was done with;

1) Selecting the mixture and adjusting the timing on the small jets
2) Likewise when the bigger jets were fitted
3) How much the power was increased
4) the spec of the engine

I can't say what other factors contributed to this failure but what I can say is this;

In 35 years I have NEVER known of ANY WON customer, to suffer damage of anything more than a piston (and unavoidable subsequent damage if the engine was not stopped at the first sign of damage), so I very much doubt that failure would have happened if he'd been using our a WON system.

All I have to say is that the drag run was wasted. And that it could have been better. The burnout was lame. And he bounced it off the rev limiter in 1st and 2nd gears. This threw away the benefit he got from the 1.5 second 60 foot time.

And the engine breakage could have been avoided if it had not leaned out I reckon.
