Have been reading about spark plugs, fully understand about the heat range but Trevor also recommends plugs with a short earth strap ie NGK plugs with a suffix ECS, when googling this these seem rarer than hens teeth and seem to relate to snowmobiles? Ive also seen pictures of people who have cut down the strap themselves thus achieving the same thing.
What are people actually using?
Thanks

That can be a tough question to answer because of there are so many engine designs out there. BUT in a nutshell, one grade harder plug (I've always stuck with NGK) should do you right. You shouldn't have to worry about the strap lengths much if you can't locate the shorter strap. Cutting the earth strap achieves a similar effect: the goal is to minimize the amount of metal protruding into the cylinder. This will allow the strap to dissipate heat and avoid preignition and detonation from occurring.

I doubt you'd have problems at all with glowing plugs at 75 hp with your engine size, but it doesn't hurt to cut the strap if you can.

What are the stock plugs for your engine?

Standard fitment is NGK BKR6EQUP which have quad earth straps so I know they are not desirable, aurtosri used BKR7E on his 330i on 75 shot, i noted from a previous post, but these do not have short straps and the electrodes protrude too, it appears that racing plugs tend to have non protruding electrodes but they cost an arm and a leg, Ive found some B8EFS online but they only appear to be only available stateside. What sort of gap to you reckon I should run?

Just did a bit more googling and found some NGK racing plugs R5671A-7, we still pay about 130% more than they they are your side....rip off Britain again....now you can understand why we dont tip here haha!

I rather pay a bit more for the sake of my engine however, what do you think abouut them?

They're fancy plugs that aren't needed and may not work because the majority of those racing plugs are non-resistor and could cause problems. I tried a set like that and it made my ECU misfire the engine badly. You're thinking in terms that the nitrous is going to do harm to your engine and that won't be the case at all: this is the WoN world of nitrous not the rest of the junk that's out there. Stick with a one grade harder plug from NGK. You're not going to need anything special for a 75 hp increase.
