Hi.
I thought that I should share this with you all as I lost one today :beatstick:
Near where I live M4 Junction 7 there is a very tight hair pin bend which basically comes around on its self and then leads to a nice long straight for about 1 mile until it leads to a roundabout at the bottom. I seem to use most of my gas here daily. :D
Today I got eaten for breakfast even when I was using nos.
Ok My car. 20i Fiesta ST using 25bhp of gas.

As I approach the junction I am following a 4.2 litre Jaguar thingy XK8 Super. Not sure of the model exactly.
He is moving briskly and approaches the hair pin without slowing down that much.
Of course I am behind in my fiesta and could easily out handle that wallowing wale.
But I stick behind him as its a single lane.
I arm the switch ready to eat him for breakfast.
Sitting in 3rd gear keeping the revs around 3000k
The road starts to straighten out and opens out to a duel carriage way.
I floor it giving it everything including the gas.
I have terrible torque steer in 3rd gear and starts to blow past the Jag.
Then all of the sudden this Jag suddenly lets rip and excuse my French. Fu**!!!!
The thing left me revving the tits of of my car. Out in the outside lane all alone.
I mean he was gone.
Im sure the driver thought Seeya :salute:
I felt a right plonker.
So I took shame and hid behind the steering wheel so I could not be seen.

My Fiesta is very quick even with just 25bhp jets. But not that fast. Shame Shame
But why as a human reaction you feel like getting rid of the car because you loose against something like that?
Oh well I suppose you cant win them all.

I now understand why I lost in big style.

I looked up the Jag on the internet and its specs are as follows.

0 - 62 mph 5 seconds
Top speed 155 mph
Cylinders 8
Valves 32 v
Engine power 420 bhp
Engine torque 413 lbs/ft

You may have also been unlucky enough to have encountered one of our other customers. ;)

I had a similar interesting episode when I was in my 6.0 V12 XJR.

I was driving down a long straight stretch at a reasonable speed at night and noticed some lights closing up on me pretty quick. My first thought was that it was a cop, so I eased up as I approached a roundabout and the car came past me and turned out to be a little hot hatch of some kind.
I got back on the throttle (BIG time), past him and then left him for dead on the next stretch but I then eased up and he was on my tail again in no time. For the next few miles he kept on my tail until we came to some lights on red at the start of a straight section of road. The lights went green and I shot off and I could hear him screaming through the gears as he tried to keep up with me, before we had to stop for the next set of lights.
When we pulled up for these he shouted across to me, asking me what gear I was in as he hadn't heard me change gear. I pointed out that it was a race motor and gearbox, that could pull EIGHTY MPH in FIRST gear, so I had stayed in FIRST. he was AMAZED and seriously impressed, saying that he'd gone through 5 gears trying to keep up with me.
His car turned out to be a small Mitsi turbo of some kind, that had been tricked up, which is why he was able to put up a pretty good show.

BTW the Jag was capable of exceeding 120 mph in SECOND GEAR and it was a FIVE speed box.

I used to take my GTO to work the long way on Sat mornings to do some tuning, one time a BMW was right up my tail pipe for a stretch of road coming up to a roundabout (I was off boost the whole time).

Mines long geared, 40 1st, 80 2nd, 120, 3rd. Gave hime the full monty from a stop with launch control etcc and absolutely mullered him, probably 1st time he'd come across 500hp..

He had his bird/ wife in the car and must have felt a right tool!. That was before nitrous so he was lucky.

I don't do it often but some people deserve to be shown the way..

Since then I will never ride again. I will stick to 4 wheels.
Even tho bikes are seriously fast. What do you do when this happens.

sorry to hear about your accident. i feel bad for pullin' your leg now. good video, however the bike still wins as that can be bought from the shop. how many ££££ were spent on the supra! ALSO the bloke on the bike is a tool. no protective gear. asking for trouble.

as for nowhere to mount the bottle, here is good...

yes, that's mine with a 50shot!

i can't get to wide open throttle in first and second anyway because of wheelies, i can use nitrous in 3rd, but the front does lift quite quick, but in 4th the front just hovers about 6" off the road for a bit. i ought to change the gearing really but i'm not about huge top speed. i rather accelerate quickly.

yes. it is my favorite toy. 8)

Hard to believe I was 'almost' as crazy as that once - not sure whether its a good thing or not that I'm not now. :?
